The “lab” is not a physical location. It is a way of working. It names an ongoing process of exploration shaped through writing, conversation, and collaboration across disciplines.
Aesthetics comes from the Greek aisthanomai, which means “to feel, to sense, to perceive.” These capacities shape what draws our attention, what feels meaningful, and what we consider worth caring about. Yet aesthetics is often treated as secondary, something to address only after practical or strategic decisions have been made. The consequences of this oversight are both immediate and long-term.
Aesthetics Research Lab exists to bring aesthetic experience back into focus wherever human judgment is at work–including business, problem-solving, culture, and motivation. The areas below highlight where this inquiry primarily appears.
